#41for2015Fest: Five Nights of Artists on the Rise
You know how some people wax nostalgic about music festivals that have burgeoned with each passing year? The way they long for some mystical festivals of olde, when every band was local and tickets didn’t cost eight million dollars?
Yeah. Well. Fests like that are still happening!
In March, Nada posted an ambitious list of the top 41 Seattle-area bands they’re eyeballing in ’15. Since then, they’ve been planning #41for2015Fest to get these bands outta your dreams and into your bar. (There’s your obscure Billy Ocean pun for the day.)
The fest will take place at Substation, which is fitting as it has an underground feel to it, but also a capacity of 150 people. This way you won’t be stuck having to stand on a toilet in the back bathroom while your friend holds the door open just so you can get a glimpse of the bands (I may or may not have had to do this at one point in my life).
Cool enough that Nada gave these musical acts some online love, but to see them organize actual stage time for them is even more badass. Five nights is hefty; I like that they’re going big right off the bat. There will also be local art shows during happy hour from 5pm to 8pm each night. That biz is $5, and when the music starts at 8:30pm, the fest itself is $8, or you can buy a five-night pass for $30.
Fingers crossed that all goes smoothly so we can be reminiscing about the first-ever #41 this time next year… but, you know, not too smoothly, because where’s the fun in that?
Check out the full schedule below, buy your tickets right meow, and then go! You simply cannot complain about this price and the balls-to-the-wall lineup:
